Geologists involved in geological
mapping and mineral resources exploration have many different
geologic data sets and GIS tools to their disposal to increase the
efficiency of geologic mapping and exploration campaigns. Remote
sensing and airborne geophysical data sets are used to increase the
geologic understanding of project areas and to plan field campaigns
more efficiently. Modelling of mineral prospectivity using multiple
data sets in a GIS helps to generate exploration targets from the wealth
of geologic information available.
